Of course, Nevada has a large gambling tourist trade. Delaware, by contrast, does not. Moreover, Nevada is a sparsely populated state, but Delaware is even more so.

The underlying plan is that these joint state compacts will permit even states with small populations, and no brick and mortar world gaming industry, the ability to benefit from the trend towards online gambling and poker.

The potential exists for Nevada to enter into compacts with other states beyond Delaware as well. No immediate plans for joining with additional states through an online gambling compact currently are in the works.
